Reading at Home - Reading Diaries
A huge thumbs up to all the students who read to their parents every night and have their reading diaries signed.
We don't have long until the end of the year and we need to keep reading as much as possible.
Thank you for supporting your child at home.

The Giant's Ice Cream
The King's Cake
Room 9 created a cake for the King by adding a mixture (frosting) of shaving cream, coloured paint, and PVA glue to paper plates. The children then sprinkled an assortment of sparkles and confetti to make their cakes look amazing.
Jolly Phonics
Room 9 are learning our letter names and sounds by using Jolly Phonics. It is really helping us become better readers and writers by knowing the letters and the sounds they make.
We have learned Ss, Aa, Tt, Ii, Pp, Nn, Cc, Kk, Ee, Hh, Rr, Mm and Dd really well so far.

Apologies if your child is missing from these photos, I had a few technical issues loading them!!!!! At least you will get the idea.
Calendar Art
Our wonderful PTA have organised once again this year, calendars, which our students have created in class, which will soon be available to order.
Room 9 have been busy creating colourful bubbles which we added to our photo, with a small quote attached ("Every child is gifted. They just unwrap their packages at different times').
Keep a look out for the order form from our PTA...
The photos attached will give you all an idea of the end result.

Great looking class after lunch
This year we have all been working on personal responsibility.
Looking after our belongings, tidying up after ourselves (some of us are still developing in this area!) and making sensible choices.
After morning tea we know Mrs Rinckes wants us to come into class and see us writing on our whiteboards, all focusing on our learning and after lunch, sitting quietly on
the mat ready for the roll.
We had a great start to this afternoon's activities as we were all sitting quietly on the mat ready for the roll...
Mrs Rinckes was so happy she had to take a photo!!!!!

Make it Click
Last week we had a visit from Ronald McDonald, who talked to us about keeping road safe and putting our seat belts on.
He reminded us about putting our seatbelts on in the car at all times and to look both ways when crossing roads and driveways.
We really enjoyed the show and hopefully will be safer around cars and driveways in the future.
This is Ronald beginning his lesson with us
We are all in the front row, eagerly watching
Katie our road patrol monitor was assisting Ronald.

Fun at the disco
The room 9 students who were at the disco had a fantastic time, dancing, clapping, and singing along to the music on Friday night. Here are a few photos I managed to take. Unfortunately, I couldn't locate everyone to take individual shots, so apologises to the other class members who aren't here. Check out the photos that will come up on the school Facebook page tomorrow also. (From the photo booth)

Marvellous MOTAT
What a fun day we all had at MOTAT.
We had the most amazing weather and walked all around the great exhibits.
Starting with the bus ride from school...
We then had a briefing on arrival, with Teresa, our MOTAT educator.
Sitting on the tram with the tram driver, who told us about the different steam and electric trams at MOTAT.
After that, we were taken by Teresa to the MOTAT classroom which was FULL!! of new and old toys. We were able to compare wooden toys with the newer plastic replicas and play with all the toys except the very precious older ones, which were sitting on bubble wrap to keep them safe.
Some of our wonderful parents started a game of 'elastics'. They were really good at it!!
Teresa showed us a Santa Bear from Farmers, a little bit different from the Santa Bears you see there now.
After lunch, we were able to roam around MOTAT. We were given a map and exhibits to
look for, which was really helpful.
We visited the old schoolroom. We all sat in the school desks and tried to imagine being a student back then. (and a teacher!!!!!)
MOTAT have a communications house to visit, so we went in and looked at all the old telephones.
One exhibit that many enjoyed, was the 'Smelly Toilets'
They looked so real and smelt terrible. But very much fun!!!
Then we took Dilan to the stocks........
We had a very busy, entertaining day and learnt so much about many things past and present...we were so tired, some of us fell asleep on the way home....
Thank you to our wonderful parents helpers, Danlelle,Yen, Shalvin, Jingjin and Abbie.
We appreciated your company and fabulous help today..
